Chronology of Mask Orders from Governor Polis

Executive Order 170 - 
August  21, 2020

Extends Previous orders while re-defining vulnerable population as:

  1. 65 years or older;

  2. Cancer patients;

  3. Kidney Disease patients;

  4. Pulmonary Disease;

  5. Immuno-compromised;

  6. Body Mass Index of 30+ (obese);

  7. Serious Heart Conditions; or

  8. Sickle Cell Disease.

Executive Order 138 - 
July 17, 2020

Extended Order 110 with several amendments:

1. Took away discretion to allow unmasked customers;

2. Applied to any customers over 10 years old when in indoor spaces;

3. Made refusal to leave a 'trespass' with civil and criminal penalties;

4. Prohibits employers from serving unmasked customers;

5. Makes Dealers' failure to notify or request to leave subject to action against license;

6. Exempts those 10 and younger, and those who cannot medically tolerate a face covering;

7. Creates exemptions (none relevant to Auto Industry);

8. Creates waiver process (though no waivers currently granted);

CDPHE attempts to answer lingering questions about the mask mandate. Medically tolerate defined as 'unconscious or having trouble breathing'.

Recommended Signage for Masks - July 17, 2020

Dealers are required to post notice that customers must wear masks.  Click the link to find the recommended sign.

Executive Order 110 - June 20, 2020

Here, the order is re-written.  Directs CDPHE to issue guidance to businesses requiring additional employees to wear masks (anyone in proximity to other employees).  Preserves dealer's discretion to exclude non-mask wearing customers.

Executive Order 092 - June 4, 2020

This order again extends the previous order with one amendment:  Employers now have discretion to deny admittance to any customer not wearing a mask.

First Order requiring Critical Business workers to wear non-medical face coverings, EXCEPT where doing so would inhibit health.  Also encourages gloves where extent possible.  This is the base for future orders.
